During this time of uncertainty, I learned my students are able to use and navigate technology. I want to extend this knowledge to the classroom.
I want to use the tablets to individualize lessons for math and reading, the two areas where we need to close the achievement gap. I have established a virtual learning classroom individualized for each student. They can choose their lessons from different stations in the virtual classroom. I can monitor lessons by reviewing their struggles and accomplishments which helps with small group instruction.
When using tablets, anxiety is reduced by letting the student practice before whole group instruction. Afterward, they are confident to "show what they know" to the teacher and classmates.
