Hands on materials are a must-have for our youngest learners, especially those in a self-contained setting. Some students at this stage do not have the appropriate fine motor skills to complete typical activities like writing, cutting, and coloring. My students need materials at home to be full participants during virtual instruction. These materials will allow me to provide engaging activities that facilitate learning. Some examples include dice and blocks for counting lessons, laminated task cards, and goal directed activities. Without access to these resources, virtual instruction will be a daunting task for these young learners. My goal is to give them everything they need to thrive in this new learning environment.
