I am excited to welcome students back to my classroom. However, I still want to be careful about students sharing supplies. For this reason, I want to have enough individual whiteboards, dry erase markers, composition books, and color pencils so that students can avoid sharing materials as much as possible. I hope to use the color pencils and whiteboards for more engaging activities in class. This would include writing or drawing answers on the whiteboards when we do class activities. It would be a great check for understanding without making students feel self-conscious about their answers. They could just show their boards without having to talk if they're shy. The color pencils would allow students to add creativity to their artwork in ways that they couldn't on computers.
Students spent all of last year typing on devices, so it would be nice to get them writing, drawing, and coloring on paper again to share their ideas.
A class set of supplies would prevent students from having to share materials. By doing this, I hope to reduce the spread of germs and maintain a healthy and safe classroom for my kids.
