These materials will be used in my classroom to supplement my students' daily curriculum. Like many other students, Autistic students often struggle with handwriting and reading comprehension. Autistic students struggle in these areas especially because they often lack fine motor skills and the ability to understand abstract ideas. I have selected materials, including write and wipe boards, write and wipe markers, math manipulatives, paper, flash cards, and journals, to help my students grow in those areas. I have also selected materials that will help them to become more creative thinkers and encourage them to write creatively. I have selected math manipulatives that I believe will provide the type of hands-on learning that my students respond to best.
