I teach varying levels of Statistics (both regular and Advanced Placement), and for both levels, graphing calculators are necessary. Many students don't have access to these and struggle with the content. By having an extra set of my own graphing calculators, I could loan them out to kids who don't have access, giving them a better chance at succeeding in my course. They will then understand which buttons to push because they have been using them all along. They can use these to help with the math side, and then apply content knowledge. Statistics is a great course for all students, because it shows them how math is used in the real world.
