The goal of a dual immersion program is to help create bilingual, biliterate, and culturally aware students. I plan to use these books in standard aligned novel studies during our Spanish Language Arts time. These books will help provide diverse literature that will in turn help my students understand their own culture and the culture of others. It is important that students of color see works whose main characters and authors are also people of color. In providing these books, you will be helping strengthen relationships and bridge the gap between students of diverse cultural backgrounds.

About my class
