In Rooted in Reading, we focus on one book a week and all the skills it teaches. Having a copy of each of the books in this curriculum will enhance the experience of reading a new book as the students analyze the illustrations and find familiar words as we read. As we read these books together and embark on a new adventure each day, students will learn to love reading and all that comes with it. With these new books, my students will be seeing, hearing and reading diverse experiences through text. These stories will enable them to use examples from the text to make connections to the weekly skills we practice everyday in first grade and beyond. Help me make reading more exciting for my firsties!
