My students are International Baccalaureate learners who express their critical thinking skills, curiousity, and creativity across all units and subjects. During this time of COVID-19 restrictions, students must each have their own art supplies, and colored markers are the most popular tool in my classroom.
Students use markers for color-coding the phonic patterns of spelling, for accurately depicting volcanoes for science, and for illustrating their imaginitive narratives for writing.
Individual sets of markers will allow students to apply their knowledge and transfer their learning to authentic projects. With their own set of colored markers, the students and I won't have to constantly worry about cleaning materials or spreading viruses. We can just concentrate on the joy of learning and expressing our thinking.
