With the use of these books, I will be able to highlight and educate my students about race, racism, and diversity more than I have been able to before. The past 5 years I modeled love and respect for all in my classroom and taught my students about famous leaders who have helped shaped the world in regards to race, freedom and justice. However, this year has showed me that issues of racism, hate, and discrimination still exist in the world. My hope is that through intentional teaching and education using these books, I can help my students grow to be loving and accepting adults in the society free of hate and racism.

About my class
