With everything that has been going on in our country lately, I have made a commitment to ensure that I have books available in my classroom library that reflect ALL of my students and allow them to see themselves in what we read. I also want to give them an opportunity to learn about people who look and act differently than them.
Reading can be the catalyst for hard conversations. I also want to intentionally purchase books that will allow us to have some hard conversations about social justice and prejudice in our society. This will help my students to be the best that they can be!
