These books will be utilized as class sets for the students in my classroom to read this coming year. It has always been a goal to add more culturally relevant and significant literature to my classroom by using books that tell stories from diverse authors and from the perspective of diverse characters. I hope to add these stories to what I teach so that students in my classroom can learn and relate to the characters they learn about and learn from. It has been proven that we learn and relate more to characters that are similar too.
