My kindergartners are both regular and special education students. One common factor that all students need is a calming environment without harsh fluorescent lighting. The lighting from our ceiling and the Promethean board generates a glare and a fluorescent hue that leads to headaches, eye strain and busy bodies. With a gentle blue colored ambiance in the classroom, it creates a more relaxed and calming learning space that both special needs children and regular education students benefit from. The harsh fluorescent lighting is toned down by the light covers, promoting calmer bodies and less headaches and eye strain for all.
