This project will provide my students with an innovative, first-hand learning experience that will engage them in a new way. The wire locker shelves will allow students to create animated drawings, paintings, stop motion projects, and even claymation! Each student can individually use their locker shelf to capture changes in drawings, gestures using the twistees and 3D claymation using the model magic. Their images will be uploaded to a free stop motion animation app to create their own stories.
Introducing animation to my students will connect and motivate all of my students in a new way. Providing students with innovative ways to express themselves will be a game change. This opportunity fulfills NACS (va:Cr2.8.1) to foster my students' willingness to experiment, innovate, and take risks to pursue ideas, forms, and meanings that emerge in the process of artmaking or designing.
