A library in the classroom is needed for a student to escape in a book while also developing literacy skills. Having a classroom library is also a fantastic way to teach students a variety of strategies in selecting interesting and effective materials to read. Students are able to locate book easily, while also developing a passion to read. My classroom library will incorporate nature and comfort so they feel at ease when reading. My desire is for my students to develop a passion of wanting to read instead of feeling like they have to read. By giving students a choice to choose a book, you are also allowing them to gain independence in the classroom environment. This nature library idea I have is something I would have loved to experience when I was in 3rd grade, so I know they will be thrilled by it as well!
