Students with special needs are effected in unanticipated ways during COVID. Not only do (like other students) they need separated supplies many of them are encountering emotional challenges that they are unfamiliar with.
Social emotional learning materials (like Ninja Life Hacks) and tangible reinforcements (like Taki's) foster perseverance and regulation skills for those students faced with trauma. Fidgets, sensory items, and new ideas support students with overcoming strong emotions.
One thing my students really get into is science, which is often overlooked in self-contained classrooms. I am excited that these science kits will give my students something to look forward to when they are able to make it school during these challenging times.
