These supplies will be used to create a visual support system within the classroom to reach the individualized needs of each student. They will allow me to create visuals so that my students can communicate, using pictures, with each other, and the educational personnel in the classroom. These visuals include a picture based schedule for each student, steps to basic routines and skills, and common vocabulary necessary to the classroom environment.
Connecting and communicating with each student is an instrumental aspect of education. Supplies will be used to create visual and color-coded schedules for each student. This ensures that each student can move to their next activity or station. Visual cards will be created so that students can match and manipulate information. Using these visuals allows for a deeper understanding of the information they are being exposed to within the classroom. These additional supplies will ensure that each of my students is able to express their thoughts, manipulate information, and develop a routine that aids in their academic success.
