As students return to school after school closure and remote learning, it will be more important than ever, to take the first six weeks of school to focus on Social-Emotional Learning. I want to diversify and refresh my classroom library, so that books reflect my students current needs and the needs of our world.
I also feel that it will be important to explore racial inequality in our country, which will also promote kindness and acceptance within my classroom. My goal as an educator is to foster growth and instill a mindset within my students. In order to promote acceptance, tolerance, and kindness, which will prepare them to become open-minded and compassionate global citizens. So that one day they may create a better future for themselves and our world.
