I am requesting materials and supplies for my students that will allow them to feel accepted when they're in my room. I want them to feel accepted for who they are, but need more cultural diversity for the walls, toys and books in my classroom. The Multi-Cultural toy figures will be perfect for the students to talk about difficult topics in a comfortable and safe way during therapy sessions, because they match their own family dynamics. I've requested several books with multicultural representation to help my students better connect to the characters and stories. The posters will help the students feel ownership in THEIR space when they visit for their sessions.
Your donations will provide materials that will help to improve my students' understanding and development of their feelings and emotions. In addition, it will aid in addressing more complex concepts, such as oppression and wellness.
By implementing Diversity tools in my room, my students will begin to see themselves as strong individuals with dreams. We will use these materials to aide us in the development of self-regulation. As the School Social Worker in a Public School with students who deserve to feel included in everything, I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thank you so much for your support and generosity.
