I immerse my peeps, my kiddos, my teens on the brink of young adulthood, into the reality of the world. I read to them. My classroom is a cozy nook where we learn together. We are a collective learning from each other. I teach them about the principals of the English language withing literature and theatre, utlizing reading, writing, grammar and mechanics, informational text, fiction and nonfiction, from throughout history. One of my favorite quotes? "The more things change, the more they stay the same." We make the change. I teach my kids this and then at their graduation, I reiterate it as I help them line up. Only by reading and deconstructing literature can we embrace and change the world!
