Resources are limited as we plan what education will look like in the fall. Our novels are chosen to teach about perseverance, community, hope, and survival traits. It is important as educators to teach them the reading and writing curriculum while supporting their mental well-being. Helping students work through their insecurities and become secure in who they are before they go off to high school is so vital. These rich novels bring about meaningful discussions, as well as personal discoveries as to how to cope with what life throws at us.
