I'd like to request funding to purchase engaging and relatable books to use in book clubs. My students, when presented with books that interest them, read voraciously. Unfortunately, the resources I have available to use for books clubs are outdated and are not representative of a culturally diverse community. I would like to purchase 8-10 copies of 5 popular books that students will be excited to read. I'm hoping that by sharing these books with them I will spark a new excitement in them about reading and talking about books.
