We would like our students to be able to participate in an Adventures in Reading virtual assembly put on by Prismatic Magic Laser Programs. The program uses laser illustrations to show students how we read using our mind's eye to imagine places, characters, and ideas, as well as encouraging students to be active readers through humorous live-action skits and laser music videos.
In addition to engaging our students and staff, the Adventures in Reading laser program will require students to use many Nevada content standards. For example, RL.K.10 - RL.5.10 all require students to read and comprehend literature at appropriate levels for each grade, which is particularly relevant to the content of this virtual assembly. Our students will also discuss the content of the assembly after the program; SL.K.1 - SL.5.1 all require students to engage in collaborative conversations about a topic.
This virtual assembly will provide our inquisitive readers with information about reading that is relevant to each of them and presented in a very captivating way! In addition to supporting students on their reading journeys, it will also provide a much-needed opportunity for connection for all students and staff participating together virtually.
