I teach incredible students who sometimes struggle with or dislike reading. I'm hoping to open up their minds to the joy and beauty of reading by providing a diverse classroom library as well as some important every day classroom supplies to help them comprehend what they're reading.
In furthering my own education and learning how to help students who dislike or struggle with reading, I've learned a couple of techniques I would like to start incorporating. One of those is a reading journal, where students are able to creatively express what they're reading and/or what they're struggling to comprehend.
By requesting books for my classroom library and supplies like glue, scissors, markers, and paper, I hope to help my students fall in love with reading.
