In past years, I have taped office organization trays to the bottom of student chairs to provide them with a private space to hold their school boxes and individual supplies. With the spread of COVID-19 as a concern for this school year, I would like to encourage individual math manipulatives, school supplies, and water bottles.
These chair pockets will solve a multitude of problems and provide students with an individual space to keep their items close. Instead of congregating at the cubbies or the water fountain, these pockets will help students grab what they need, where they are at. Also, with increased cleaning, it will be easier to remove the pockets for the chair, floor, and table cleaning.
