This classroom library will help me delve into age appropriate discussions of anti-racism, equity, and social justice with my students. Through daily read alouds, lessons, and exposure to books at their own reading levels that feature people of all different cultures and skin types, I am helping my students to think about these issues in a very explicit way.
By incorporating books in this library that are written by authors from different cultures and offer perspectives that are different from their own, the students will be broadening their world view and becoming globally competent thinkers that can fight for equity and change in our world.
