Students come into my room within a basic understanding of a 4 function calculator. However, on their end of course exam they are required to use a specific scientific calculator. Having a class set of these calculators would greatly improve their understanding of the different functions as everyone would have access to one. There are various tips and tricks that I can help teach them during the year by displaying one on the board but it is much more beneficial for them to have hands on experience.
