If there is one thing we know in ECSE, it is that every child is unique and amazing in their own way! This project will allow our classroom environment to reflect the needs, abilities, and diversity in our class family. Flexible seating allows students to choose how they want to sit to best accommodate their learning, something especially important for students with sensory disabilities. Additionally, the books in this project all feature people of color or students with disabilities, allowing the students to see themselves represented in the books we read in class.
Our classroom is full of diversity, and that should be represented and celebrated! With your help, we can teach our students that they are valuable and that they have a voice by allowing them the right to choose how they learn best (through flexible seating options) and by providing books that demonstrate the power and beauty in celebrating who we are!
