It is no secret that the Coronavirus has changed all of our lives. Our students were pulled out of the classroom since March and when they come back in August, school will not look the same.
Before the Coronavirus, students were able to work all around the classroom to help them learn to their full potential, but unfortunately that will not be the case in August. Before the school closure, students had the opportunity to sit all over the room using scoop chairs, pillows, and clip boards. Student choice of where to sit helped them learn in higher capacities than they would if they were stuck at their desks doing work all day.
When we go back to school in August, students will lose their choice of flexible seating around the room in order to make sure that they are six feet apart at all times. In order to meet students' needs, I want students to have the opportunity to use flexible seating at their desks. The flexible seating at student desks will help students get the movement they need to keep their brains fresh while still being safe according to health regulations.
