Having color copies of worksheets and posters will help students to be able to see and identify many social and emotional concepts- for example red relates to anger and blue relates to sadness. Many students do not have the opportunity to have color copies, but this will help them with grouping and matching when working on social and emotional materials.
Giving students the opportunity to see and use color pictures will help them to be more successful in relating their feeling and emotions and can also use what they learn to select a calm down activity from the fidget items that were requested.
Along with the opportunity to learn, students can also have their own fidget bag full of items to use either as brain breaks, in the calm down space, or at recess time. Students will be able to pick and choose from a variety of items to fit their needs and preferences.
