Carpe Diem, Seize the day! My students will dive right into a love for reading, and help bridge educational gaps of literacy and language. These diverse books will present my students with identity, instill community awareness, and foster building of meaningful connections and experiences where they can see themselves in the print they read! Help me to inspire my students to dream dreams that they see in the books they read. Help my diverse students be doctors, teachers, lawyers, scientists, architects, and so much more! Help my students reach for the stars! These diverse books have been selected to help inspire my kids to see themselves while they read and make meaningful connections. My students will have access to these books during read-alouds, independent reading and small group work. As a class we will use them as mentor texts to help develop foundational skills in reading, writing, and language development. Our classroom library will be a center point in our classroom that will be treated with respect, and inspire curiosity and lots of questions and conversations.
