These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I am striving to create. My classroom library will be a place that my students really enjoy. Currently, the students do not have an option for independent reading or to pull a book out to read when they complete assignments early.
Even though I teach History I want my students to be able to experience the joy of reading. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. The students will be able to read and research using books instead of just a textbook or computer. Hopefully, some will discover a love of reading books that cannot be replicated on a computer or phone screen.
The school year will include at least four group presentations on a variety of topics and the ability for groups to read and research a variety of topics that interest them instead of the few examples provided by their textbooks.
