My classroom library is a place where I share books with the whole class as well as individually with my kindergarten students. In our classroom, we are represented by several cultures and races however not very many are represented in children's literature. I want my students to be able to relate to the books that I am sharing as well as teach their classmates to respect and appreciate the differences. My hope is that with these more diverse books and books that teach about character, we may all grow to understand each other even if they don't necessarily look the same. I want my student to go to first grade with deeper respect for their differences and be better people because of it.
