My students read a little bit every day, to give them time and to model the importance and value of independent reading. These books will continue to enhance my classroom library that I am actively working to expand. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind; books I feel that my students would find interesting, could relate to, and/or learn from. I believe the most effective way to get kids to read is to give them options and best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger and more passionate about reading. I also belive that reading diverse books teaches empathy, something that the world could use just a little bit more of, which all starts one person and one classroom at a time.
