I am a first year teacher, who needs to expand a class library and selections for read aloud books. My students need children’s books that they can read and listen to with topics they can relate to, characters that share the same qualities as them, experiences they have been through, and challenges they will need help with overcoming! A lot of my students only get access to books and reading material at school and with the possibility of virtual learning, this would be perfect for virtual read alouds as well.
Reading can ignite imagination and help make learning exciting, which is very important at this age! Learning how to read can be challenging, but having books that students love will make them excited to read and listen to stories that can benefit them in the classroom and outside of the classroom!
