My first year of teaching was last year in the middle of a pandemic. We were not allowed any soft surfaces, so a carpet was not a concerned. This year however, that restriction has been lifted. I would love to provide a comfortable carpet for my students to gather and learn on. I think having a carpet in the classroom gets students more engaged in lessons. It also makes transitioning into collaborative learning more smooth.
This carpet will give students a place to come together and learn in a family environment. We will be able to share with each other and grow in learning. Students will also be able to read together on the carpet which gives them more seating options.
