Our eighth grade class worked together to select a viable site for their soccer field, calculate a budget, build a scaled model, develop a marketing plan, and meet with a community partner to help us make our vision a reality.
One student said, "Soccer is such a popular and wonderful sport across cultures; this field could keep teenagers away from negative things such as joining gangs, smoking, and stealing because they'll be focused on sports. GBV (like all neighborhoods) has its issues, but it's everyone's mission to make our community a safe and peaceful place. So, let's start with the young children and the teens and see how it goes. If it goes well, we can work with parents who have a lot of stress in their lives. Let’s try to make GBV a spectacular place to be.â€
