To prevent cross-contamination and the spread of germs from student to student, my hope with this project is that each of my little girls and guys, ages 5-7, will have his/her own school supply box with special scissors, special extra-large crayons, and glue sticks. My students will use these materials for hands-on learning activities each day, including cut-and-paste alphabet, shape and color activities, word/letter sorts, counting and sorting activities, etc. With low intellectual functioning and many other barriers to learning, they learn best with hands-on manipulative activities.
The materials I am asking you for will be provided to every single student in my classroom to use when we return to school next month, whether that be online, in person, or a combination of both.
The materials can be used at home, while I guide them through lessons via Google classroom/distance learning. They will also be used in our traditional classroom, once we return to our physical building.
