I have students that are hard working and make the best of their situation. My students have learning, emotional and behavioral issues that keep them from completely accessing the academic curriculum.
I teach students with disabilities and many of them need me to work out their school work so they can see. Due to the current COVID situation my students have been working through Google Classroom, Zoom, Google Meets and via telephone. These diverse learners would benefit more from a document reader that would allow me to work on the assignment with them. Doing so would allow them to actually see me working. Having the interactive whiteboard will allow me to work problems out with students step by step. This will allow me to review and revise the work they are completing. The interactive whiteboard will also make learning more fun.
Having the whiteboard, document reader, posters and graphing paper will also allow provide students with to be more independent learners. This project will help me to better fulfill my students learning needs and meet their academic deficits. Some of these deficits include mathematics and these posters will help students fill more confident in the work they produce.
When we are able to return to school, my hardworking special education students will continue to benefit from the: posters, document reader, interactive whiteboard and graphing paper. They will be able to use the interactive whiteboard in small groups and cooperative learning opportunities. I will continue using the document reader for students to follow along with me as we work. The posters will continue to be used as an in class resource for students.
