My goal with the project is to get as many books in the hands of my students. I want to open their eyes to new perspectives through literature. By expanding my classroom library with novels, graphic novels, picture books, and more my students will be able to explore people and families alike and also completely different from themselves. Whether that be through different cultures, magic, or new lands. My read alouds will focus on community building and stretching our viewpoints as well.
These books I am requesting will be used for in person schooling this year. Students will have opportunities to read at their own pace. With a vast array of books to choose from, students will be able to fall in love with reading by being able to chose their own story.
This upcoming school year, students will need their own materials to follow ready safe school expectations. Therefore, by having a classroom library there will be enough books for each student to have their own while also allowing enough variety.
