Bookshelf Blastoff! Will provide my kindergarten students a sturdy, attractive way to view and select picture books in their very own cozy library. Many of these students haven’t been to a library or had the opportunity to look through and read books for enjoyment, and this bookshelf will help their book and print awareness BLASTOFF! Kindergarten students need lots of exposure to books for both the pleasure of reading and to find information in text, and this bookshelf will display their books and provide baskets on the bottom for manipulatives.
When learning at home becomes necessary, students will be allowed to come to our classroom book display and select books to take with them for virtual lessons. This will be an easy, no cost to the students, way to continue book and print awareness at home. The goal is for students to have opportunities to select books that interest them and encourage them to read for both pleasure and interest. An inviting display that is age appropriate encourages little readers to BLASTOFF into their reading adventures.
