The books that I have requested from Scholastic will help fill our classroom library. Having a well-stocked library is essential to fostering a love of reading. I have selected a wide variety of titles in order to encourage my students to read the more challenging books. Some of the titles will also be used for read-aloud, my favorite time of the day. Taking a moment to recognize how they are feeling at the beginning of each day by writing in their journals will encourage my students to think critically and evaluate their emotions. This will help create a classroom community that embraces treating one another with respect and kindness.
