In a preschool setting, much of our learning takes place in whole group on our rug. That is where we have our daily meeting, discuss our emotions and feelings, and participate in whole group lessons. The rug is also where students can go to relax and take a break if they get overwhelmed throughout the day. My students are 3 and 4 year olds who are just learning how to spend the day in a school setting. Having this rug in our classroom will provide us a place to come together, as well as a comfort for those students who may find themselves needing a little extra comfort on some days.
