I teach kindergarten. This is such a fun age group that is full of energy and a love for learning. One of the things weighing heavily on my mind as our district makes plans to go back to school is how to make my students as safe as possible. For student seating, I currently have tables in my room that do not accommodate social distancing. As I plan to rearrange my room, take some things out, and plan new routines and procedures, I thought about how nice it would be to have individual desks for seating.
With this donation, I would be able to offer my students and their parents some peace of mind through independent seating. The individual desks provide students with their own space to sit, store their items, and work without the fear of constant cross-contamination from others working in their space. With that piece of mind, they can focus on having fun and learning...which is what school is all about. I spend a great amount of time in my room each summer decorating and researching ideas on how to make it "homey" and welcoming as possible. This year, I would love to add an extra sense of comfort through independent student desks. Thank you for your consideration to help me provide my students with peace of mind as they enter our classroom.
