I chose these materials for my students because they do not have access to resources during the pandemic. I teach three sections of English, and I have chosen a set of novels for each class section to study. I have used these novels to teach in the past, but we had to share copies when we were in the physical classroom. Now that students are home, each student will have their own copy as I conduct the novel study virtually. Students will use highlighters to highlight the text and learn how to annotate with the ink pens. I will use the anchor chart and markers to model writing conventions, list discussion prompt points, and translate student ideas.
