With a new listening library, I will be able to provide my students with a wide variety of stories. Our classroom uses the Daily 5 during our reading block. One of those stations is to listen to reading where students can listen to a book on CD and read along. This is a great way for a child to read a book that they might not be comfortable reading on their own. This opens up a door for students to experience a book that might be challenging on their own. It also allows children to read books of different genres that they might not have picked on their own. Our current listening library consists of books that are borrowed and there isn't always enough books for the group. This listening center will be used for years to come and strengthen the reading foundation for the students.
