These materials will greatly enhance the learning of my students as they will be able to explore the joy of designing wearable art! We will study many contemporary artists who create work out of wood and metal. We will learn riveting skills, sawing skills, and finishing techniques such as wood burning sanding, and staining. We will discuss what makes a design successful and engage in numerous class discussions to grow creatively. Students will find great joy in being able to create art at home.
Through online tutorials and videos shared by myself, we will be able to create earrings and pendants that reflect a student's chosen theme and creativity. Students will be asked to create a "Collection" of work that captures their own unique voice and style as an artist. We will discuss design elements such as movement, contrast, negative space, and aesthetics.
