My students are inner city kids who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Due to their hearing loss, many of them are academically delayed and have many language delays. They are part of a program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within one of the city's mainstream high schools. They mostly take classes within the program, but they have the opportunity to be mainstreamed into general education classes within the school if they achieve high grades and good regents scores.
