One of the most recognized techniques for student engagement is self-selection. With distance learning, that kind of motivation will help keep my senior AP Literature students involved and reading while learning from home. In an effort to give my students more choice and more voice, I would like to improve and expand my classroom library to include authors who come from the same background as the majority of my students. These more recently published books are usually not freely available online so physical copies to check out will be helpful.
