My focus is to improve and personalize our flipped lector videos, and to improve communicating to students when engaging in synchronous virtual learning. These resources are invaluable to my goals throughout the year for both teachers and students.
I will be using the iPad to interact with students asynchronously and synchronously. The main application I will be using on the iPad is Explain Everything. Explain Everything is a Whiteboard creation platform that will allow me to create my own Flipped Videos and use the digital whiteboard as if I were writing on my physical whiteboard in the classroom but instead I will be writing on the iPad with an Apple Pencil. With this platform I will be able to create unique and creative videos that focus on and support the Biology TEKS while engaging my students with a familiar voice and relevancy during asynchronous learning. This allows for students to review the content at anytime to assist with assignments. Additionally, this platform will allow for me to draw, write, and visually explain content during real-time virtual instruction by screen sharing. This platform will allow me to create companion scaffolded note sheets for use with my students requiring modification. Explain Everything will also allow me to create or modify existing graphic organizers to use virtually as I debrief the Flipped Videos during synchronous learning. This will be a huge benefit for me to reach all types of learners and create equity for my students while maintaining engagement during virtual learning.
