The use of hands on learning tools will give my students the opportunity to learn while interacting with each other. Due to COVID many of my students have never been in a classroom or experienced a "normal" school year. This has left learning gaps within student problem solving and foundational skills. These skills are essential as students progress through their learning careers.
Hands on learning tools will give my students the chance to close those gaps in a fun and engaging way, that also allows them to interact with their peers!
I am requesting Botley Bots and STEAM materials which will my give students the opportunity to problem solve and apply abstract thinking and spatial reasoning skills in a fun and interactive way. In addition, hands on word work materials and games will provide opportunities for students to engage more with the reading foundational skills that I have seen students are lacking in from kindergarten.
Not only do all of these materials allow for critical thinking and reasoning opportunities, but they also give students the social and collaborative interaction they have so been missing during these unprecedented times.
